Newsletter II – January ‘08

Welcome back to a new year and hoping everyone had a relaxing, festive and fun Christmas break.  Firstly we’d like to thank everyone that helped, attended or supported a PTA event during last term. Over the whole term we raised over £1,500, which is fantastic.

A brief summary of the key events is given below:-

Christmas Bazaar - Saturday 4th December
The Christmas Bazaar was well supported and thanks to everyone that ventured out on that wet and cold Saturday.  Due to the changes in the committee at the beginning of the Autumn term we had a tough time organising the day but hopefully those that did attend found the experience worthwhile and fun.  As well as some traditional stands we tried some new ideas which included a soft cuddly-toy tombola, face painting and a stall manned by Ash class. We intend on running a similar format next year so any more ideas or feedback are gratefully received.

Christmas Mini Fair - Wednesday 19th December
Thanks to everyone for donating gifts for the children to buy and provided money to buy some back again!  We hope everyone enjoyed opening their presents on Christmas day. Once again the children had a wonderful time, choosing, paying for and watching their very own gifts being wrapped.
 
From a PTA perspective this term is usually relatively quiet but a couple of events are planned.  So, some dates for your diaries:

Friday 25th January                        Coffee Morning (9 - 10.30 am) @ School Hall
                                                         All welcome including younger siblings.  A toy corner is set up            in the library.  Second-hand school uniform on sale.
                                                         Donation’s made towards drinks and biscuits.

Friday 29th February                     Coffee Morning (9 - 10.30 am) @ School Hall
                                                         Arrangements as above

Friday 15th February                      Cake Stall 3.30 pm @ School Hall

We intend on sending regular newsletters so will keep you updated with other events as they are planned.
