Updates
March 2019
The responses to the questionnaire have now been logged into a database by Amy Burnett (Development in Transition). A public meeting was held on 12 March ahead of the Parish Council meeting to provide a summary of the responses. Amy provided a synopsis of the responses, maps were available for viewing the sites suggested for development and not for development, and hard copies of the summary were distributed. A pdf of the summary is available in the ‘Relevant Files’ section of the web site but if anyone would like a paper copy, please email [email protected].
A final full report will be provided to the Parish Council, following which the steering group is requesting free of charge technical assistance from AECOM consultants for a site assessment as part of the government-supported Locality neighbourhood planning support package. Once we have the results of the site assessment and have undertaken an analysis of the full report in order to draw conclusions, opportunities for the community to shape emerging aims and objectives of the plan will be announced in the summer.
From your comments and other relevant evidence, the steering group will prepare a draft Neighbourhood Plan. To inform this we will also be seeking the input of community groups over the next couple of months to understand their needs.
Please watch out for posters with information on the dates and venues for community feedback.

January 2019
The questionnaires were distributed to all households in the villages before Christmas. Thank you very much to all those who found the time to complete and return their copies. In total we received 96 questionnaires. The data is being put into a spreadsheet and analysed by an independent specialist (Amy Burnett, Development in Transition), who also supports other Neighbourhood Planning groups in the South West.
The next step is to review the results and see, as a community, what they suggest for potential policies and objectives for our plan. We anticipate that there will be a public meeting in the Spring -our ‘Community Feedback Day’ - which will allow everyone to see the results and to make comments. The information will also be available via a presentation at a Parish Council meeting and available on the community website. From your comments and other relevant evidence, the steering group will prepare a draft Neighbourhood Plan. We welcome your input and the steering group will be seeking the input of community groups over the next couple of months to understand their needs.
Please watch out for posters for more information on the date and venue for Community Feedback Day.

Thank you to all those who have completed a questionnaire and handed it into the shop. If anyone is a bit late and still wants to hand one in please do so by the Sunday 9th Dec at the latest.
About Our Neighbourhood Plan
The Coombe Bissett and Homington Neighbourhood Plan (CB&HNP) intends to provide a true reflection of our community’s preferences for development up to the period 2036, whilst celebrating and protecting the most important aspects of our landscape and heritage. The Neighbourhood Plan will help create local planning guidelines that focus on economic, social and environmental aspects to underpin a viable and sustainable community. A draft plan will be shared for your further feedback before the final plan is submitted to Wiltshire Council for a formal inspection. A referendum for registered voters in the parish will determine whether the plan is ‘made’ (adopted) to become part of the statutory planning framework.
Community Questionnaire: November 2018
All residents should receive the Coombe Bissett and Homington Neighbourhood Plan Community Questionnaire (kindly delivered by local volunteers). Your responses will be the foundation upon which the Neighbourhood Plan’s policies and objectives are based.
Please help us to make our Neighbourhood Plan relevant, forward thinking and effective by filling in this questionnaire. Complete one questionnaire per household; it should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Business owners (including the self-employed) are asked to complete employment specific questions in Section 5.
Please complete your copy and return to
Village Stores, Homington Road, Coombe Bissett, Salisbury SP5 4LR

by 2nd December 2018
They will keep all completed questionnaires securely. To complement this questionnaire, the steering group is also carrying out an assessment of possible development sites in the parish.
The responses will be analysed and shared with local residents, community groups and other stakeholders to demonstrate development preferences and needs that will shape land use in the parish until 2036. A community feedback day is planned for early 2019 which will be an opportunity for residents to view the questionnaire results, meet the steering group and reflect on what the results mean for policies that we should include in our plan. The questionnaire results will also be available online. The steering group will also actively engage with local groups in the parish to understand how the Neighbourhood Plan could support them.
