Summary of July 2020 Community Survey

In July 2020 the Coombe Bissett and Homington Neightbourhood Plan steering group carried out an online survey to obtain feedback from the community on elements which were being considered to include in our Draft Plan, specifically potential sites for development and Local Green Spaces.  The survey was carried out to replace a planned event at the Village Hall which was cancelled due to Covid-19 social distancing restrictions.

The results have been independently collated and analysed, and the information was subsequently passed to the Parish Council for consideration.  Since then we have been working on the Draft Plan which was sent to Wiltshire Council for their initial comment prior to a screening to determine whether a Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA) is required.

Having now received initial comment from Wiltshire Council we are communicating the results of the survey to the community, together with the sites the Parish Council support to go forward in the Draft Plan.  Click here for the link to see the results.

Once the proposed sites have been screened (and a potential SEA has been completed) and the results considered, the Draft Plan will go to the Reg 14 consultation stage which will enable everyone in our community to comment on the content of the Draft Plan.

SUMMARIES OF KEY INFORMATION
The in-depth Topic Papers support our evidence base, which you can find in the sections below. We have also made some shorter presentations which summarise  the key information and provide an overview for those who don’t have time to read each Topic Paper. These short presentations will guide you through the information and let you know where you can find out more.  Information is provided on the survey as well to help complete it.

Questions in these areas are in the Survey:

2. Site Assessment here
3. Environment Views and Vistas here
4. Local Green Spaces here

5. Flooding here
6. Transport/Footpaths here

Our community will have the opportunity to comment on the Draft Plan before it is officially submitted to Wiltshire Council for Examination during a six-week consultation known as ‘Reg 14’. It will then be formally submitted for Examination and if a majority of residents vote ‘yes’ in a local referendum it will mean the Plan becomes part of Wiltshire Council’s planning framework.   You can find out more about the Neighbourhood Plan process here
